,EAST VINCENT — Police cited nine individuals for trespassing on the Pennhurst property during the late evening hours of July 10.
One male dressed in camouflage threatened a representative of the property with a butterfly knife, according to the East Vincent Police Department incident report.
Jeffrey Gavin, who was threatened with the knife, and Daniel Harr are identified in the report as "employers." Sgt. Matthew Williams of East Vincent said the men represent Pennhurst's new owners — Pennhurst Acquisition, a development company.
This incident report was obtained through the state's open records law.
A resident of Rapps Dam Road in Phoenixville called police at approximately 11:20 p.m. to register a complaint.
Officers from East Vincent, Spring City and East Coventry responded.
According to the report, those trespassing fled the "dietary building" while another 15 people were led out from the Commonwealth Drive area by a Spring City police officer.
According to Williams, both juveniles and adults received trespassing citations.
Their dates of birth were redacted from the incident report. Officers cleared the scene at approximately 1:30 a.m., July 11.
Receiving citations were: Jeff Melczko, of Delta; John Falk, of Lancaster; Keely Millbourne, of New Castle, Del.; Julia Millbourne, of New Castle, Del.; David Imhoff Jr., of Felton; Tylar Faust, of Hamburg; Joseph Smith Jr., of Philadelphia; Kyle Christopher Kale, of Shoemakersville; and Dustin Cody Nerger, of Bethel.
The individual who threatened Gavin with a knife fled the dietary building with a female, who was described as wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans. They were not located by police.
The caller wishes to press charges against all of those involved, the report states.
In February, Pennsylvania sold the 111-acre former Pennhurst State School and Hospital to a company called Pennhurst Acquisition for $2 million. Partner Richard Chakejian has not announced development plans.

ReplyDeleteHow stupid to trespass with so many people and not expect to get caught ...duh.
ReplyDeleteHow can you come to the opinion that you can't place names of criminally charged or convicted adults in any form of public media. If over 18, your actions will be with you for everyone to see for life. I learned this lesson the hard way multiple times and although I hate the reality of it, any other way could only lead down a road of much worse possibilities. Pretty frightening considering what lies along this "road".
ReplyDeleteThis included the absolute flawed thinking that led to EUGENICS, which was the primary consideration of all "treatments, therapies and diagnoses" given within the °°brimstone°° walls of this "health-care" institution. Even our very own America was investing in theories that enabled forced "treatment" of anyone which wasnt deemed "up to par, mentally fit, physically fit, or just not within societies expected ideals." Now even if this approach was followed with 100% ABSOLUTE "honesty, ethics and professionalism"(if those words can apply at all with eugenics inherent evil) the outcomes were at best lifelong nightmares of experimental torture and/or lonely death for what eugenics called "inferior" humans. Through no fault of their own conceived of an unfortunate mix of disease baring genetics and emotionally damaging environments.
Now to the reality we live in, where absolute integrity without fraud for personal gain, advantage or pleasure does not exist (as pertaining to systems of people or groups, anonymous or not). Now anyone that conceived and carried a vendetta, grudge, jealous belief or unforgiven conflict with another had the perfect device to carry their darkest and most hurtful desires to full term, America's Pennhurst Institution. And to fullfill any hellborn desire all "one" had to do was make an accusation attaching any mixture & magnitude of undesireable traits towards the target of their hate and let the eugenics movement do the rest. At "best" the enemy of their desire was tossed in an eugenic facility to be experimented on in unimaginable ways. At "worst" they were almost always sterilized to never be able to continue there bloodline, usually even if the accusations were proven false. You'd get a knock on your door and they'd forcibly give you the sterilization procedure. I know this sounds like something that could never happen here in the U.S.A but it did happen to thousands of people and there families. I only ask you do some simple research before trying to argue otherwise.
So starting with an argument for censorship we lead to the far, far extreme where that kind of thinking can lead us. What a crazy dishonest manipulative world. Happy Thanksgiving to all you native Americans out there (don't get me started on that one)
